In addition, its financial services operations consist of mortgage banking and title operations. The company arranges financing through the origination of mortgage loans for its homebuyers; sells such loans and the related servicing rights; and provides title insurance policies as an agent, and examination and closing services to its home buyers. PulteGroup, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2010. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $76 million or $0.20 per diluted share compared with a prior year net loss of $189 million or $0.74 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2009. Total revenue for the period was $1,305.89 million compared to $678.58 million for the second quarter of 2009. Loss before income taxes for the period was $5.72 million compared to $186.93 million for the second quarter of 2009. Results were helped by the company's acquisition of Centex, which closed in August 2009 and made the company. Prior-year results are not adjusted for the deal. For the six months ended June 30, 2010, the company reported net income of $64 million or $0.17 per diluted share compared with net loss of $704 million or $2.77 per diluted share a year ago. Consolidated revenue for the period was $2.3 billion, an increase of 84% from $1.3 billion for the first six months of last year. Loss before income taxes for the period was $20.23 million compared to $699.17 million for the second quarter of 2009.
