Digital River Inc. and Microsoft Corporation have entered into, in the ordinary course of business, the Second Omnibus Amendment to the Microsoft Operations Digital Distribution Agreement. The Second Omnibus Amendment extends the term of Microsoft Operations Digital Distribution Agreement through October 31, 2013. On August 30, 2010, Digital River and Microsoft entered into the Microsoft Store USA SOW whereby Digital River will build, host and manage Microsoft Store, an e-commerce store that supports the sale and fulfillment of Microsoft and third party software as well as consumer electronics products to customers in the United States. The Second Omnibus Amendment contemplates Digital River providing e-commerce hosting and payment processing services in connection with Microsoft Store in addition to Digital River maintaining its role as a reseller of Microsoft products via Digital Rivers existing online stores.

Microsoft Corporation has launched an advertising platform in China in an attempt to grab market share from Google. The company's adCenter will target Chinese exporters wanting to advertise overseas. AdCenter helps businesses place advertisements online such as on Microsoft's Bing search engine.

Microsoft Corporation named Amit Chatterjee as the new managing director of its development centre in India. Chatterjee is replacing Srini Koppolu, corporate vice-president & managing director. Koppolu was with Microsoft for the past 21 years. Koppolu told FE that he may explore opportunities in the education space. His last day at Microsoft is September 24. Chatterjee has been with the company for the past 22 years and will now expand his responsibilities to lead MSIDC. He will continue to be based out of Hyderabad and will report to S Somasegar, senior vice-president, developer division, Microsoft .
