The Boeing Company, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design, development, manufacture, sale, and support of commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight, and launch systems and services worldwide. It operates in five segments: Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Military Aircraft (BMA), Network and Space Systems (N&SS), Global Services and Support (GS&S), and Boeing Capital Corporation (BCC). The Commercial Airplanes segment develops, produces, and markets commercial jet aircraft, as well as provides related support services principally to the commercial airline industry. Its family of commercial jet aircraft includes the 737 Next-Generation narrow-body model; and the 747, 767, 777, and 787 wide-body models. This segment also offers aviation services support, aircraft modifications, spares, training, maintenance documents, and technical advice to commercial and government customers. The BMA segment engages in the research, development, production, and modification of military aircraft precision engagement, and mobility products and services. The N&SS researches, develops, produces, and modifies products and services to assist customers in transforming their operations through network integration, intelligence and surveillance systems, communications, architectures, and space exploration. Air China Enters Agreement with Boeing Co

Air China announced that it has entered into an agreement with Boeing Co. to purchase 15 Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The order replaces the 15 Boeing 787-8 aircraft the airline agreed to purchase from Boeing under the 2005 Aircraft Purchase Agreement.

Boeing Co. Wins Contract for Engineering Technical Services

Boeing Co., Oklahoma City, Okla., is being awarded a $19,121,714 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide contractor engineering technical services including on-site proficiency training, providing technical guidance and advice to resolve unusually complex technical problems, and providing technical expertise related to AV-8B, C-17, C-32, C-40, F/A-18, F-15, F-22 and KC-135 aircraft. The estimated level of effort for this contract is 183,323 man-hours.Work is expected to be completed in August 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68936-10-D-0058).

Boeing May Seek Acquisitions

Boeing Co. may consider acquisitions. Chief Financial Officer of the firm, James Bell said that while Boeing will continue to consider acquisitions on the military side of the business, the commercial business has its hands full, when asked if Boeing would consider purchasing Finmeccanica SpAs Alenia Aeronautica. He added that the firm is not interested in buying Alenia.
