Its Pharmaceuticals division engages in the research, development, manufacture, distribution, and sale of pharmaceuticals in various therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular and metabolism; oncology; neuroscience and ophthalmics; respiratory; and immunology and infectious diseases. Sandoz Announces Introduction of Enoxaparin Sodium Injection

Sandoz announced the introduction of enoxaparin sodium injection, the first generic version of Lovenox (1), in the US Product shipment began immediately following approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Sandoz product, developed in collaboration with Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc., is indicated for use in prophylaxis and for treatment of deep vein thrombosis, prophylaxis of ischemic complications of unstable angina and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, and the treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
Morphosys May Become Acquisition Target For Novartis

Simon Moroney, CEO of Morphosys AG told Boersen-Zeitung that the firm itself may become a takeover target for Novartis AG due to milestone payments. Should two or three products reach Phase III, Novartis may decide to calculate the royalties it must pay Morphosys and evaluate the prospects for such an acquisition, he added. Novartis holds 7% stake in Morphosys.
