Netflix, Inc. reported consolidated unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2010. For the quarter, the company's revenue was $519.8 million, representing 27% year-over-year growth from $408.5 million for the second quarter of 2009. GAAP net income for the second quarter of 2010 was $43.5 million, or $0.80 per diluted share compared to GAAP net income of $32.4 million, or $0.54 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2009. GAAP net income grew 34% on a year-over-year basis and GAAP EPS grew 48% on a year-over-year basis. Cash provided by operating activities for the second quarter of 2010 was $60.3 million compared to $75.3 million for the second quarter of 2009. Operating income was $77.342 million against $52.782 million a year earlier. Income before income taxes was $73.37 million against $52.974 million for the same period last year. Non GAAP net income was $47.627 million or $0.88 per diluted share against non GAAP net income of $34.45 million or $0.58 per diluted share for the same period last year. Purchases of property and equipment for the quarter of 2010 was $5.671 million against $6.933 million for the same period last year. For the six months, the company's revenue was $1,013.484 million compared to $802.607 million for the same period of 2009. GAAP net income for the six months of 2010 was $75.791 million, or $1.39 per diluted share compared to GAAP net income of $54.806 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, for the same period of 2009. Net cash provided by operating activities was $137.5 million compared to $140.94 million for the same period of 2009. Operating income was $135.687 million against $89.253 million a year earlier. Income before income taxes was $127.728 million against $90.385 million for the same period last year. Non GAAP net income was $83.167 million or $1.52 per diluted share against non GAAP net income of $58.685 million or $0.98 per diluted share for the same period last year. Purchases of property and equipment for the six months of 2010 was $12.1 million against $13.51 million for the same period last year. For the third quarter 2010, the company expects revenue of $546 million to $554 million, GAAP net income of $33 million to $40 million and GAAP EPS of $0.61 to $0.74 per diluted share. For the fourth quarter of 2010, the company expects revenue of $580 million to $596 million, GAAP net income of $32 million to $40 million and GAAP EPS of $0.58 to $0.73 per diluted share. For the year 2010, the company expects revenue of $2.14 billion to $2.16 billion, up from $2.11 billion to $2.16 billion, GAAP net income of $141 million to $156 million, up from $132 million to $144 million and GAAP EPS of $2.58 to $2.86 per diluted share, up from $2.41 to $2.63 per diluted share.
